St. John rocks!

Just a few of the many amazing rock formations on the island. The striations in the bottom-most photo are natural cracks, not score marks -- ahem, where are my geo-geek girls to tell me what caused them? My enthusiasm for minerals sadly does not replace the fact that I've never had any formal study of them...

(side note: mid-90s Smith College Geology Department T-shirt: "We've seen a million faces, and we've rocked them all." Love it.)

You and your 80's lyrics. You may complain about the real estate they have horded, but you know you love 'em. Incidentally, I love that song, too, partly for the steel horse he rides.

greetings & good evening from the mainland! we've made it home safely (and it's oh so cold...34 degrees!) we had a REALLY early start this morning, so sorry to have missed you. baby was the only sole awake to see us off---and he sent us off with purrs, headbutts, and ye-ows. we had a wonderful time & it was so good to see you. we enjoyed meeting ari, your new island friends, & all of the critters. i'll give you a shout soon! until then, its time to put on another cat to keep us warm...

sweet dreams, xoxo Z&T
